I like hicaps too, and you're right. If we are limited to locaps then other support guns such as M60's etc... should be limited to a more realistic number of bb's as well. Plus it's a lot quicker to swap out a mag on an M16 than to feed another belt into a support gun. Smile

my m16 highs all four are only 300rnds never seen a 400. but i wont argue with the no highs. dont like it but oh well. i would argue the semi crap. that just makes no sence. just load it to your 70 rnds and go. or go complete ammo count.500rnd max or somthing. or the points system. to limit mags means to reload in the fiel wich dosent add to realism either. i like the mag changing part of using lows but hate a pocket full of bbs and speed loader. so i think we nee to find a middle ground

well that's why there are teams with differents rules ! lol!

So everybody can play the way he likes, but it's still a MilSim, so, as a referee, I'll appreciate to see realistic shooting, like changing mag(even a high cap) every ~50 rnds, no suppresive fire with 2000 bbs, no 100 bbs burst etc...

I agree, a middle ground always is best. That is why I like mid-caps. No winding, no rattle, and tons of ammo ratio.

Strange though, all of the highcaps I have used were 400, mind you, I do not use TM. Still, if labeled at 300, most will fit quite a bit more. I went back through Redwolf and most of the mags are labelled 300 though, weird. I will have to do a fill count.
(here is a 450rnd M4 highcap: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/ProductDetail?prodID=20455 )

My biggest complaint against highcaps is that they rattle, badly. I will try not to play along side of someone who is sitting there rattling away. I rather that person be playing with a padded box-mag than a high-cap.

Now I am guilty for having insane ratio mags. I have a 4000+rnd box mag, 2x 900+ rnd dual mags, and a 400+rnd highcap. Mind you, I do not field them but use them as box-cutters. Fun to have, ruin the game for everyone else playing. Pinning people with continious fire is not fun really...

Still, semi-rules will not change the power of a high-cap. Many of my guns have very fast semi-response. Not quite 800rnds per minute, but you can speed-ball squeeze them off. I think that a return to the discussion of point system or mag limits will just breed more arguement. There is no easy arguement for this because the low-cap players are against high's and the hi-cap players are against lows. Again, I like middle ground and use a lot of mids.

we should start a poll on a new thread for this and get a standard ruling for NIA. I will impliment it up here with MIA and then this dosent come up anymore. or go with a points system that will change as the game calls for. Nic has this figured for this game which rocks but it will continue for every game utill there is an ruling from the top. "REALISUM" order from the top no bitching everybody would know beforehand. make the order and we will follow.

as for this game we are shooting for "hollywood movie" and will score points on it so yah I can see mag changes with highcaps. I am hoping everybody will get into their roles and play the part and then have a blast. should be fun.

A poll is a good idea. It has worked before on a variety of issues. Can't hurt to try at least. I will post a new thread here and see what comes up. Though rules will continue to change from game to game, I don't think that the poll decision will be respected much. Still, it would be interesting to see what the active players have to say (vote) on this issue.

Agreed... as long as hicap & midcap users count their shots and "swap" mags at ~50 shots then there is no real advantage. The disadvantage of bb's rattling in the hicap may actually outweigh the convenience of having added bb capacity. Smile

Doug, my ICS mag holds 450 bb's but my Airsoft Elite and SRC hicaps were both 300 bb mags. The ICS mag is actually a bit longer (maybe 3/4" longer) than the standard TM hicap.

Yeah, after looking around a bit, there is quite the variation of BB capacity sizing. Weird that my 400+ highcap is the same size as the TM high-cap mags. I guess better designs for different companies.
