Intro

WGC custom AEGs are basically G&P's assembled by WGC using a few different components.
I chose this one for two reasons- WGCs reputation for better assembly and the 6-position LE stock that it comes with.

First Impressions

This gun has a very nice flat black finish, with a non-slip texture on the foregrip. The Colt trademarks are deeply engraved, and look convincingly realistic.

WGC custom m4a1 review Dscf4487sy5

Suprisingly, this gun does not feel very solid... The magazine rattles in the mag well, the rear site block rattles, the stock wobbles left and right at least a few millemeters, and the upper and lower receivers even rattle together if I shake it hard enough. Unfortunatley I can't see a way to tighten anything, since it's all held together with pins. This doesn't bug me too much though, because the gun feels strong enough to use as a pogo-stick. Smile

Shooting

This gun didn't come with any sort of loading tool, so after taking 20 minutes to load a mag with a pen( Surprised ), I took it out to shoot.
The ROF on full auto is fast with my 9.6v 1400mAh batteries. At least 900 RPM I'm guessing. I don't have a chrono handy, but I found that it could fire through both sides of a pop can, and keep on going for about 50 feet.
When I first got the gun, the accuracy was incredible. I could hit a man-sized target from 200 feet 1 out of every 3 shots. But for some reason, the accuracy has decreased quite a bit over time, and now I find it hard to hit a man sized target past 150 feet. The gun also shoots too high past thirty feet no matter what hop-up setting I have it on. Inside thirty feet, I can still get groupings of an inch or two.
I have some systema hop up bucking and an air-seal nozzle coming, so I'll let you know if that changes anything.
So far I have put 4000 rounds through it without even a jam.

Conclusion

This is a great gun, with just a few problems that need to be worked out. From what I've read, the main problematic areas are the tappet plate, the nozzle, and the hop up bucking.

Pros
Aluminum body- not pot metal
Great finish
Pre-upgraded
6-position LE stock
Good price
Reliable

Cons
Wobbliness!
Inconsistant hop up

my bad, again : forget to desactivate Zone Alarm No
Nice looking gun, I really like the stock

I had a G&P and the only rattle I had was the handguard (few millimeters) scratch
For the rattle in the rear sight block, if it just the block pivoting a few milimeters on its axis, it's normal : it's probably a real carry handle (like mine) and they almost all do that.

For the mags, are they G&P ? If no I have two of them you can try Surprised

Yeah, it's just the site block pivoting a bit, but how do I tell if it's a real carry handle? Smile

Also, all four of my mags are G&P midcaps.

no real way to say so but the G&P usually are real (meaning same factory)... feel like steel, not alloy. If you've got the pivot mouvment that's provably a real one (big value on CGN Laughing )

I'm getting this same one too as i'm going back to M4 times. For the hop-up problem just get systema or Guarder M4 hop-up replacement.

I successfully installed the new tappet plate, nozzle, and hop up rubber yesterday. I can now hit a man sized target from 200 feet again! Twisted Evil

I've been having a bit of trouble with my hop up, though. It's seems like it's most optimal setting is when it's turned all the way on. Also, I need to tighted the screw to get it to stay there. Anyone know if I missed anything when I reasembled it?

Could you further explain more about this? What screws are you talking about?

The screw that holds the adjustment knob in.
I forgot to mention that my gun still shoots high, no matter how my sights are adjusted

Add a thin cardboard stopper behind the knob, it will keep it adjusted and not shift. Mind you, do you have a one piece or multiple piece hopup?

It's a one peice hop up.
I don't really have a problem with keeping it there, I'm just wondering why I have to tighten it so much.
