This is the best SAW for your money it shoots accuratly, feels good, and best of all the internals can be upgraded with any TM or Systema parts.
Yes I did say TM or Systema, gone is the day of order expensive custom made parts for your heavy gunner. The only downfall that I have seen is IT IS DANG HEAVY....... OWWW my aching arms but for a Saw that is under 1700.00 taxes S&h Battery Included You just cant go wrong with it it comes with 1 hi cap m 16 magazine which is great but when you buy that ammo boxes for it it holds 2500 rounds it certanly beats winding up a hi cap in the midle of a battle sunny

To me this sound like opinion and not a review. Base from my opinion about the CA M249 Mk2 is that the piston strips less than day use. There is no box mag at start and you need to buy either TM piston or brand name one to fix that factory problem.

for 1499 or above depending on the retailer and additional box mag which cost roughly another 150 - 200 it is still one expensive M249. Although the market for M249 has only 3 company in the making. I say Star owns CA and TOP.

Star m249 does not have M16 acceptance ability, not full metal, and does not have function cocking handle; it still out perform CA and TOP in terms of reliablity and performance for right out of the box.

Yes but in the long run what would be cheaper, upgrading the internals or upgrading to a full metal body, metal railed feed tray, there is no ris yet for the Star, and I would like to be able to use armalite mags.

Just my two cents.

Well, Star of course for upgrades out of the box it shoots 340 fps in 8.4v with 800 rate of fire. Once you get durable piston to replace the stock piston and spring you can use a 9.6v which delivers 1024 rate of fire. The bushing is already metal so therefore it won't strip if 9.6v use.

I don't see why having metal body for MG because in airsoft it freaking heavy almost about 17 lbs and why would you want the M16 acceptance? You're not going to use it anyways! You can't even use 2500 and if you do you just grab another bag and pour it in the box mag.

The greatest for STAR is the box mag for STAR M249 it doesn't need button to auto wind, it does it automatically once you finish all 2500 rounds. And if you have buddy with you have him/her to keep pouring bbs to the box mag for infinite rounds; simulating belt-fed style.

PostSubject: Mk249 piston problem   Classic Army Ca249MKII EmptySat 06 May 2006, 9:30 pm

The piston problem was on last years model this gun is for this years model which has had a more reliable piston and gear set put in it it if you want to count semantics top has a major flaw as you are now stuck when you do a upgrade to buying there internals adn close to a 1000 dollars after you have it installed know bringing the price of there gun over 3000dollars the box for most saws and m 60's costs around 200 bucks unlkess your willing to spend the money for some of the more adavacned boxes. tops guns also have a poor bipod design which hampers the use of the gun when you are lying down. now is TOP a bad gun NO but the price tag for this gun is a little outrageous for a out of the box gun which is only for the rich.
As for the Star 249 that is a true piece of junk it is like buying BOYZ products it is not for the serious airsofter as it is just about 100 % plastic
not worth the money and will break very easily I don't where you fired stars gun but i returned my back to my supplier laughing with him as because it was not very reliable and is a cheap gun.(Rangers airsoft does not recommend this gun for the serious airsofter)
Know I dont know where you got yor opinion of the CA but I own it and I can tell you that this years model is quite nice and is running flawless with over 5000 rounds put through it I have not lost any velocity nor have I had to replace the piston Gears or otherwise with this weapon. does this mean my weapon remain unmodded (not this year but maybe next) which I would be very happy doing knowing that it will not cost me a small fortune to do this upgrade When I cone up to PG I would be more than happy to bring this weapon with me so you may try itwhich should put any doubts that you have about this gun at ease

I am glad that it has capatible swapable parts. I forsee at 10.8v highspeed gear mod Smile What motor does it use? Is it SystemA engine swapable and short, medium, or long necked?

Here are some additional reviews and articles that people may base their opinions on:

Here's another one

http://www.airsoftgi.com/StarM249ParaReview.php

Obivously someone is crapping on STAR without reading. Speculating on product without acknowledging it what it is

Oh yea you did you know STAR M249 is not ABS material. It made of Nylon fabric and Zinc alloy. So far you, you just thinks it crap. I don't believe you even bought one you just want to comment on how crappy star so you can win your side lol

How do I know about CA M249, well I know 3 people had CA M249 and they said its need to be upgraded to be realiable. I saw 1 CA M249 got its piston strip less than 3 hours and have 2 another airsoft that advise to upgrade before playing. For 1499 and out of the box with hassle not worth it.

STAR, is already pre-upgraded with 340 fps with 8.4v rate of fire 800 and with 9.6v 1024 rate of fire with a piston a swap and you're done.

I don't like to misled anyone, but if you intend to misled anyone then that is a no no on my book.

PostSubject: response to yuu   Classic Army Ca249MKII EmptySun 07 May 2006, 1:46 am

Like the man in the article said if you want a A realistic saw or ca249 than save up the extra 500 dollars if you want realism it is the only way to go star might be a great weapon IF and When star improves on all the items mentioned in the article. than you would have a weapon worth showing off however that being said Most serous airsofters prefer to have a weapon that looks good is easily modified externally and internally which if star had done there weapon would be closer to the price range of the 249 Now if you want a gun that you can just whip out of a box it looks not shabby but you still have to put tape on to prevent BB's from spilling out than great that is your choice but like I tell people who are interested in the sport dont rush out and buy the first airsoft gun you see for 200 bucks save up and buy the 500 dollar one it will last you longer and you will get more out of it.

Ok I'm all for CA but Stars aren't the POS you make them out to be. When I was down in van last week got to see one in hand (as wail as a CA) and got to see them at work. (Both were stock.) They both look great but the CA as more of a realistic look to it but the Stars look alright for the price. I don't think they would really be needing tape to hold it to gather. What ever they use was really tuff and to some hard hits. I really like the heavy feel of the CA. $500 more, I really think is worth that and with all the upgreads already for the CA and yet to see any thing realy for the Star, my money is with CA.

Alright, but i'm only going to see no saw or para when i'm back. Let alone only 15 people just shows up for games, while board has over that amount of people showing up.

I hope you guys keep your words.
