PostSubject: CQC walls and DATES   Tue 11 Jan 2011, 2:15 am

I don't know why I haven't done this yet, possibly because Jason hasn't been around to harass people. We have around 80 walls (40 pairs) for the CQC. Each wall comes to about $10 once you factor in tie straps etc. With the roller dome we could seriously handle 300-400 walls...I never want to set that up. What I do want to do is get enough walls that we can always add more but don't have to set them all up. I am thinking 110-120 would be our max for what we want to set-up and take down each time.

The fee for the rental of the place is $140 and we are usually just breaking even or losing a little with our CQC games. We already bought 8ish walls with Frags donation of time teaching (we spent what we would have paid him on walls).

1 wall is $10
5 walls is $50
10 walls is $100
40 walls is $400 and would finish off our collection nicely.

If you would like to donate and get PG some more CQC walls please feel free to EMT, paypal or just put money in my hand and I will go and get them. I would post how many you are willing and able to donate to keep some accountability to me.

Maybe there are some of you who are not sold on this pitch...for the animal lover here is another attempt to get walls.

The other thing I wanted to do was standardize some set-ups and room shapes that have worked or you think would work. Talk is cheap...MS paint is fun!! Make some designs and post them up! General designs we have right now in my head are

The village-5-7 smaller shacks with 2 entries on each shack spread out the whole court
The hotel (NEW as of Jan 2011)-one hall hallway with rooms only coming out of one side.
The house-putting all the walls into one area and creating multiple rooms and hallways that somewhat resemble a house set-up
The random-evenly spreading the walls we have across the entire court
Big room center-one large room center with 4 entries into it. Halls and smaller rooms built off of this

What are some other general designs we have tried that have worked or not worked? What do you enjoy or hate about cetian set-ups. Some discussion will help us plan better CQC games.

John was talking about cutting some of the pairs in 1/2 to create low cover or cutting some windows into a few so there may not be an entry but there could be a line of sight into a room.

Just a suggestion if each one of us did One dollar extra above our game fees averaging 15 people per Game and if we played as many times as the club did last year 15 Games we would be at half of what we would like for walls if we did Two dollars we would have all we need for walls I know keeping our game cost's low is important to many of us but if we can add more to our club make it more fun we can attract more people to start playing and more people equals lower Gaming costs for everyone

Second thing I would love to see those Plywood walls cut in half for creating low cover plus would lighten them up a bit I can one hand the Chip board walls like nothing the Plywood ones are a bit more difficult

There appears to be nowwhere else to post game info for the CQC stuff so I will just piggy back this thread.

Our next game is Feb 26, I have nothing for march that works for me until the last week and weather depeding that we don't just go outside. If somone wants to host a game the second weekend in March I would be fine to book it I just need the nod from someone who wants to run it. That would be March 12 or 13.

Looking at the weather and our last years calendar we will be indoors for sure into April. I am going to book our last date mid April.

More walls coming next game. Someone reminde me to make an NIA stencil so we can mark the walls as ours for winter storage.
