Plexi and Lexan Empty
PostSubject: Plexi and Lexan   Plexi and Lexan EmptyMon 20 Apr 2009, 3:21 am

If anyone needs some Plexi (1/8 inch) let me know. Next time I grab some plastics I'll be grabbing lexan instead. Potential shatter is less. I've actually made a camera viewing case out of it and you'll see it's awesomeness next game.

BIG NOTE: Since it's pretty thin, this plastic can be shaped with heat to any angle really, except like 355 degrees. That's just no. Bill if you want to try making you're 'Army of Two' gun shield out of this stuff go for it. I can cut to what ever dimensions you want but I leave the gun attaching part up to you. Anyone need any plastics to fit into their vests or mag pouches as a stiffener (yes I said stiffener) give me a shout.

Haven't had a problem with the plexi, it's just I can't use a saw blade, I have to score and snap which doesn't leave a perfect edge without grinding and sanding.

PM'ed Dave about info for the little windows of the shields. We have the plexi, the painter's trowels and paint but not sure about the 1/8 particle board and the size of the windows. Having several shields for next game might be pretty rocking. Considering I have lot of batteries and a lot more mags I'll be using it as a primary.

Plexi and Lexan Empty

I didnt grab a quote, but for the sheet I bought, it was $13. It's 4.5 X 2.5 at 1/8 inch thickness. The guy at Redwood Plastics just guess-timated a price on the spot. He takes Debit, Cash, and I assume Credit as well.

I hope Lexan is cheaper, I thought it was more considering it's more reliable, can be sawed, and in thicker densities can actually be used as a real knife resistant material (in the case of stabbings).
